2024 Scholarship Information:
The Executive Board of the Orange County Colony of the California Society of Mayflower Descendants proudly announces the 2023/24 scholarship program for students attending college, undergraduate or graduate level students or graduating high school seniors, who are either a member or have a direct lineage connection or share bloodline (i.e., niece, nephew, grandniece, grandnephew, cousin) to a member of the Orange County Colony Mayflower Descendants. The applicant or his/her family member must be an OC Colony member in good standing for at least one year as of the date of the application. There will be no restrictions on age (if meets eligibility requirements) prior winner status, or residence of the member or applicant.
Scholarships will be awarded as follows: $1,600 First Place, $1,200 Second Place, $700 Third Place and $250.00 Jim Blauer Award for 4th..
The applicant package must be complete and contain each of the following items:

Applications are accepted with an accompanying essay on a particular topic chosen each year by the OC Colony Board. This topic is changed annually and announced no later than February 1st of each year.

The following criteria must be met for the 2024 Scholarship Contest application process to be
successful. The Scholarship will be awarded in April 2024 and the winners recognized at the April
2024 meeting as well as the November 2024 Compact Meeting. Scholarships will be awarded as
follows: $1,600 First Place, $1.200 Second Place, $700 Third Place, $250 Fourth Place.
● Applicant must be a college undergraduate, graduate student or a graduating high school
senior.
● Applicant must be a member, or have a direct lineage connection, or share a Mayflower
bloodline (i.e., child, grandchild, etc., niece, nephew, grandniece, grandnephew, cousin) with
a member of the Orange County Colony Mayflower Descendants.

Mayflower ancestors, tell the rest of the story of this fact or event in the voice of your
ancestor, fictionally augmenting, but not contradicting the documented historical record.

The California State Society of Mayflower Descendants 2023
Scholarship Competition Information:
The California Mayflower Society awards three scholarships each year to qualified applicants: one $5,500 scholarship, one $3,500 scholarship, one $2,500 scholarship and one $1,000 scholarship. This is a statewide competition, open to any qualified student applicant from any colony within the State of California. Write a letter from one of your Mayflower ancestors to their family in England or Holland. Describe the contribu-tions of the Mayflower women in the colony.

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants 2024
Scholarship Competition Information:
Now Accepting Applications: Deadline for the 2024 Scholarship Program is March 1st, 2024
There are 4 Scholarships offered by the General Society of Mayflower Descendants each year. Scholarships will be awarded as follows:
$6,000 First Place, $5,000 Second Place and $4,000 Third Place as well as a $3,000 Mary Chilton Winslow Scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is a Mayflower descendant and will be attending a four-year college or university or two-year community college.
This is a national competition open to any qualified student applicant from any state or colony.
The due date for the 2024 applications to be submitted is March 1, 2024. Please visit the General Society's Scholarship page for more details.
If any documentation needs to be submitted to GSMD to obtain a current GSMD membership number, applicants should begin work as early as possible with the Mayflower Historian in their state of residence to complete this process.
You will be required to list your Mayflower Ancestor(s) from the ship.
